If you elect to proceed with porcelain veneers you will be in good company, since this amazing procedure has been perfecting Hollywood actors’ smiles since 1928!

Porcelain veneers are one of the most sought after dental services as they are minimally invasive and deliver a completely natural and beautiful look.

Porcelain Veneers Defined

Porcelain veneers are custom-made wafer-thin facings that conceal myriad dental imperfections by covering the front of your tooth or teeth. They are made of dental porcelain, the highest durability veneer material.

Porcelain Veneer Candidates

If you suffer from any of the following dental concerns, affecting one or multiple teeth, you are a likely veneer candidate:

  • Cracked, chipped or fractured teeth
  • Crooked teeth
  • Gum recession
  • Spaces or gaps between teeth
  • Tooth discoloration
  • Uneven teeth or teeth that appear too small
  • Worn, weakened teeth

Porcelain veneers are also ideal for correcting tooth discoloration due to trauma and stains from tetracycline or other medications as these deeper discolorations typically won’t respond to professional teeth whitening.

Porcelain Veneers Benefits

With porcelain veneers you needn’t worry that your new smile will appear too obvious or wonder how long it will last. Their translucent, light reflecting ability creates a natural looking, beautiful smile that can last up to twenty years with proper dental care.

In addition, porcelain veneers demonstrate superior ability to resist staining when compared to resin veneers, making them ideal if you enjoy coffee, tea, wine or foods that tend to stain.

Lastly, this conservative approach to smile restoration utilizes porcelain which does not irritate gum tissues.

The Porcelain Veneers Process

In order for you to visualize how your new teeth veneers will look, a model will be made before your

veneers procedure begins.

First, a thin layer is removed from your teeth, an impression, photos and x rays are taken and sent to a special laboratory where your porcelain veneers will be made. (We apply temporary veneers for you until they arrive.)

Once completed, we will check to make sure that your porcelain veneers match your tooth shade, trim, and polish them.

To ensure the strongest bond possible, your teeth are etched and a specialized cement is applied to permanently bond your veneers to the front of your teeth. After curing with a UV Light, Dr. Kirakosian utilizes her artistic skills to ensure your veneers are perfectly fitted and encourages a two week follow up to make sure you will love your smile makeover for years to come.
