What exactly is Invisalign?

Invisalign Invisalign is an easy way to get straight, beautiful teeth without all the metal and hardware. After consulting with your dentist to determine your need, you will take x-rays, pictures and impressions of your teeth. Invisalign will then create a 3D image using the x-rays, pictures and impressions so that your dentist can create a tailored treatment plan for you. This will allow your dentist to show you what your teeth will look like at each stage of your treatment.

Invisalign Depending on the treatment plan constructed for you, custom-made, clear aligners are used at different stages to straighten your teeth. The aligners are created with BPA-free plastic that won’t irritate your mouth like metal braces can. The aligners are worn throughout the day and are only removed to  eat, brush, and floss your teeth. For best results, aligners should be worn 20 to 22 hours a day. As you progress through your different aligners, your teeth with gradually shift into place. Each tray is worn for approximately two weeks and visits to your doctor should be roughly every six weeks to monitor your progress.

Invisalign is able to treat several different concerns, such as gapped teeth, over/under bite, cross bite, open bite, and overly crowded teeth. There are many benefits to straightening your teeth using Invisalign as opposed to traditional braces. With Invisalign, you’re able to enjoy any of the foods you would eat without braces. You can remove the device whenever you want, brush and floss normally, only have to visit your dentist every so often, not to mention the comfort level compared to traditional braces.

Treatment with Invisalign varies from person to person, but most adults achieve their desired smile in a year or so. Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign is virtually invisible, so most people won’t even notice you’re wearing them!
